“Labs” refers to a wide array of medical diagnostic testing services. They can measure everything in your system, from the health of your kidneys to your white blood cell count. Labs identify health problems, let your doctor know if you can handle a particular surgery, or check in to see if a specific treatment has been effective, amongst many other considerations.
Calvary Urgent Care’s state-of-the-art clinic has a full-service CLIA-certified laboratory onsite, which enables the team to offer a comprehensive test menu and exceptional phlebotomy services.

Calvary Urgent Care offers in-house lab testing services, so you can rest assured that your diagnostic services will be streamlined to maximize your experience. When you come in for your lab, your medical professional first takes a sample for your test, which is generally urine or blood, depending on the test being performed.
If your labs involve a blood draw, your phlebotomist places a tourniquet (a tight elastic band) around one of your arms to make your veins back up with blood and appear more visible.
Your phlebotomist then targets a vein that looks easy to access, cleans it with alcohol, and inserts a needle through your skin and into the vein. The needle connects to a tube that serves as a repository for the blood that comes through the syringe.
Your phlebotomist then removes your tourniquet and allows your sample to collect in the tube. When they’ve drawn enough blood, they remove the needle and cover your puncture site with a bandage. Your doctor sends your blood sample to the lab for testing. The amount of time it takes for your labs to come back varies from test to test. You can speak with the friendly staff at Calvary Urgent Care for a more accurate timeline for your particular lab test.
